TRIAL 02

Attention, Citizens! You have ten minutes to proceed to the Loyalty Chamber. Anyone who is late to the Loyalty Chamber, or who brings any weapons into the Loyalty Chamber, will be immediately executed.

[Once you arrive, you will find a large chamber, with twenty podiums spaced around the room in a circle. On the ceiling, a massive screen showing the digital eye of The Computer, turning to look at whoever is talking.]

You have one hour to come to a consensus about who to eliminate. Ties will be broken randomly.

[The floor of the chamber begins to split apart, eventually only leaving the twenty podiums as safe places to stand, above a seemingly bottomless abyss. Each podium lights up with a touch screen showing twenty user IDs (the dead are grayed out), plus the word “ABSTAIN”. However, ABSTAIN has now been grayed out as well. The trial begins now!]

[[Vote here.]]

I don't particularly doubt that he's the other Partner, but he hasn't said so one way or the other himself, and anything is possible. Somehow, the way that information came out seems a little fishy, so I think there's something we don't know...

[She doesn't trust anyone who gets into a fistfight but does it as badly as Yomiel and Clay. It was like watching a pair of goldfish trying to sumo wrestle on dry land. Wimps.]

Was that a confession?

[So crafty.]

[ ... Yeah, they're pretty bad at fighting, that's for sure. ]

I think so too. I believe either Yomiel-san himself might have a role or he was in close contact with people who had roles themselves. Though it is quite interesting how things turned out.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. If this is a Communist distraction tactic, it started with the guy who talked to me. But, personally, I'm willing to take them at their word.

[personal profile] in_plain_sight 2014-11-09 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Greed told you, right? Fine, that much is probably true. But it all seems a little convenient.

Oh, did you want to hear one? Here's my confession.

I won't hesitate to shoot your balls in front of everyone if you piss me off.

I'm saying it doesn't matter in general--if they're trying to take out a Citizen, role or not, it'll decrease our numbers either way. I suppose it could be an effort to smoke someone with a role out, but that's a stretch. If they were scapegoated, they could easily clear their name by revealing themselves as a special player.

And yeah, that's what I mean. Just because they did what Yomiel suggested doesn't make it a legitimate thing. They could have left some clue to let us know they're on the Citizens side.

[Anthy looks thoughful.]

If Mr Yomiel is a Communist, it might explain why he'd want attack Mr Puppington for not being eliminated instead of his friend.

You know the Loyalty Officer? Are you sure?

Did they mention anything we can use for the trial?
schrodingers_man: (Pleased to meet you)

[personal profile] schrodingers_man 2014-11-09 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
...Does it really matter to the citizens whether or not she has a role? That kind of information is best kept private.
harshwords: (♦ looks like someone's gonna die)

[personal profile] harshwords 2014-11-09 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
There's not really much of a point to reveal yourself as a special player in public, considering that you can easily get yourself offed that way. That's just asking to tie a "Kill me" sign on their back.

But they didn't. Or at least, I didn't see any clues when I checked. Though if anybody saw something, I would appreciate if they could at least tell us.

He's been very adamant about getting us to vote for someone during these trials. It could be that he just wants to get these over with as quickly as possible, and there was reason to vote for Moge-ko, but...

[It doesn't look good, let's put it that way.]

[personal profile] murimurimuri 2014-11-09 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
...So you're in contact with them.

Well, that's not surprising. There's no way you're a Communist, right?
harshwords: (♦ isn't that what a servant does?)

[personal profile] harshwords 2014-11-09 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course it matters. I don't mind if they want to keep their privacy, but if we're going to win this game, we have to go on the offensive.

Though it would be nice if they at least told a few people they trust.

[personal profile] in_plain_sight 2014-11-09 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
...I think so, yeah. I don't know if he has a role, but if Greed confided in him, and the Loyalty Officer just did too... he's in an interesting position...
standbyrival: (pathetic)

[personal profile] standbyrival 2014-11-09 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
And that would be the point of trying to smoke them out. They stay quiet, people get paranoid, and vote them out anyway. They speak up, and the Communists off them later.

Overall I'm leaning toward the idea of ignoring it completely for now. It's a distraction with no real answer, unless someone is dumb enough to speak up. There are other ways to go about this.

Nothing really useful. They looked into me after last night's fiasco, and I came up clean as a whistle. The night before that, they picked Greed, so, unfortunately, I was the only person they had to turn to. They haven't investigated Phi. Whether she's one of them or one of us, the only people who know are Phi and the Communists.

They don't want us to repeat yesterday's mistake. That's what it comes down to.

I actually find it kind of strange, though. It's simply really early in the game and people are trusting each other that easily...? Sounds rather suspicious, if you ask me.

Greed told me he was clean, but he didn't say they were partners. Clay Puppington confirmed it himself.

Is there anything else you can tell us about it?

Hm? What? I didn't say anything. You hearing things? Slowly losing your grip on reality? Thinking about penises? Probably should get that checked out.

As sure as I can be with just their word for it. But if they're willing to take a risk by outing themselves to me, I'm willing to pay the good faith back by trusting them.

But they didn't have anything really useful to offer. We're on our own again for this one.
