DAY 00

[Good afternoon, Citizens!

Your consciousness blurrily returns as the transport tube your comatose body was stored in opens up, admitting you access to an unfamiliar room. One wall is covered by vertical tubes, one occasionally sliding open to admit another confused person. The wall across from you has a sign saying "PROCEED TO CENTRAL HUB", with an arrow pointing at a red doorway in the corner. The wall to your right contains an unlabeled, dusty, and poorly-lit hallway with blue walls, floor, and ceiling. You can't see the end from here.

Somewhere on your person, you will find a thin, smartphone-sized object that wasn't there before. One side of it is lit up with a red background and a number of disabled menu items. Most of the screen is taken up by another message saying "PROCEED TO CENTRAL HUB".

What is this place, anyway? And who are these people stumbling in through the transport tube array?]

[[Beyond the three prompts below, anyone may start their own prompts to mingle or go off and do their own thing or whatever else they want!]]
ossifragant: very wrong with the world (Ò that something's gone awful)

Should I be checking you for a fever?

[If Kimbley is the one giving "let's not kill each other" speeches right out of the gate, holy fuck we're all dead.]
alchemicals: (009.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-02 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah. Probably.

[He just rakes his hand back through the short strands of his hair.]

Don't get me wrong, people are going to die. I'm just not here to do it according to this guy's rules.
ossifragant: (⊕ don't let her in)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
We're in agreement, then.

[But someone is going to snap first, aren't they? It's just a matter of who does it.]

"A team-building exercise," he called it. What horseshit. He should call it what it is.
alchemicals: (010.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-02 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
I think that person I was talking to earlier had a point - they said something about how the thing they're marking some of us as is pretty much a free ticket to kill. Us versus the other, you know?

If it's really a team-building thing - and I don't think it is - we're not supposed to buy in.
ossifragant: (Φ waiting for our ship to come)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I was thinking.

It reminds me of something-- [but then he remembers who he's talking to and stops himself abruptly.]

Like you said, the only way it can be team-building is in the sense that it's creating groups who will hopefully slaughter each other. The question is: how did they find us?

[He's... fairly certain why he and Kimbley were picked, but he doesn't know enough about the rest, besides Miss Likes to Kill, to see the pattern.]
alchemicals: (009.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-02 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
Don't look at me. I still have no idea how we were brought here at all.
ossifragant: (Φ now it's just what i've become)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
[He shrugs.]

Something tells me the only way we'll get hints is if one of these people gets a twitchy trigger finger.
alchemicals: (002.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-02 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Looks like one already has. She just hasn't found a way to make it stick yet.
ossifragant: (Ò then the rabbits couldn't just come in)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

We just have to know the rules about who can kill whom apparently.

[It's not like he's going to care when one of these people bite it, the only thing he cares about is it not being him.]
alchemicals: (010.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-02 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
I'd prefer that we not all get wiped out before the murdering is supposed to start. That's why I'm telling everyone to knock it the hell off - we screw it up now and the guy might just decide to start over with a fresh batch.
ossifragant: (Ô it's just i'm scared)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
I hadn't thought of that before.

[But that... might be because Greed has never particularly feared death.

There's that underlying problem that Kimbley is the one trying to manage this. Greed isn't exactly equipped to deal with this sort of thing. He doesn't know what the hell they're supposed to, really.

So long as it doesn't end with all of them dying before the killing game has even begun, he doesn't really care what happens.]

We didn't even make it half a day before someone decided to jump the gun. We're in for an interesting time from here on out.

[He has no desire to brutally attack Kimbley so at least there's something of a truce going on at the moment.]
alchemicals: (005.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-02 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
[...buddy, if you think Kimbley is going to try to manage anything other than screaming at everyone to sit down and shut up because they're giving him a fucking headache...]

"Interesting" is one way of putting it; I just don't want to be cut off before the fun starts.
ossifragant: (⊗ my bet i'll sleep well tonight)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
[That's still way more effort that Greed would expend. His idea would be to go off in a corner and let them slaughter each other.]

Try not to get caught if you decide to participate, won't you?

I'd hate to see what "elimination" looks like.
alchemicals: ...periodically (006.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-02 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
[He just shrugs at that.]

I'm going to do whatever I decide I feel like doing. If I get killed for my effort, who cares? It's better than sitting around doing nothing.
ossifragant: (Φ there's a smell of stale fear)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
At the very least I hope you'll make it interesting.

Dying stupidly shouldn't be in your playbook.
alchemicals: (007.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-02 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
It never has been, and I don't feel like adding it now.
ossifragant: (⊗ fore your eyes what a curious sight)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
Good. I wouldn't have it any other way.
