DAY 00

[Good afternoon, Citizens!

Your consciousness blurrily returns as the transport tube your comatose body was stored in opens up, admitting you access to an unfamiliar room. One wall is covered by vertical tubes, one occasionally sliding open to admit another confused person. The wall across from you has a sign saying "PROCEED TO CENTRAL HUB", with an arrow pointing at a red doorway in the corner. The wall to your right contains an unlabeled, dusty, and poorly-lit hallway with blue walls, floor, and ceiling. You can't see the end from here.

Somewhere on your person, you will find a thin, smartphone-sized object that wasn't there before. One side of it is lit up with a red background and a number of disabled menu items. Most of the screen is taken up by another message saying "PROCEED TO CENTRAL HUB".

What is this place, anyway? And who are these people stumbling in through the transport tube array?]

[[Beyond the three prompts below, anyone may start their own prompts to mingle or go off and do their own thing or whatever else they want!]]

[He barks a laugh. It's not entirely unfriendly, but there's a certain edge to it.]

I have no idea where I am right now. It would be a shame to bust a hole in a wall only for us to fine out we're underwater.

[But he doesn't seriously think it.

Besides, even if it's true, Greed wouldn't drown. The others here, well, it's not his problem.]

You don't happen to have something to patch up the wall if it starts spurting water, do you?

[Unfortunately, the question is clearly meant to be rhetorical because he throws all of his weight into a punch at the nearest wall--

Only for fist to meet the material of said wall with s sickening crunch. Nothing is broken, at least he doesn't think so, but his knuckles are bloody.]

What the hell?

[The man actually punched the wall. Clay just stands back and watches, his expression more nonchalant than anything.]

... You know, when God invented walls and pain, He made it so that it would be painful for humans to try and move through walls. That's why we don't use our fists, God's invention that inflicts pain while feeling pain, and use explosives, the other invention that causes lots of pain without feeling it at all. It's pretty neat.

[It takes him a long moment to process the fact that the wall hadn't shattered under his strength. And that his Shield hadn't come up when he needed it to.

That was almost certainly not a good thing. Something that doesn't sit well with him, but like hell is he going to actually explain it. There's also the fact that his hand is still bleeding. It hasn't healed over. Healing is automatic, the white light should have already prickled over his knuckles, but instead they're sore and raw.

He'll probably need to find some sort of bandage, which is a ridiculous thought.]

Unfortunately for you, I've never had to rely on explosives.

[He's not even going to touch the comments about "God" and "humans."]

Well it's high time you started giving them a try, buddy. You might as well be throwing butter at the walls at the rate you're going. Bony, bloody butter.

[He pauses.]

So that's it, then. We're trapped here.

[He shrugs broadly, like it doesn't really concern him. Greed isn't about to let his problems show on his face. That would be giving far too much away.]

It seems that way.

I'm sure we'll find out why we're here soon enough. There's no sense in letting people run around like ants in a maze for no reason at all.
