DAY 00

[Good afternoon, Citizens!

Your consciousness blurrily returns as the transport tube your comatose body was stored in opens up, admitting you access to an unfamiliar room. One wall is covered by vertical tubes, one occasionally sliding open to admit another confused person. The wall across from you has a sign saying "PROCEED TO CENTRAL HUB", with an arrow pointing at a red doorway in the corner. The wall to your right contains an unlabeled, dusty, and poorly-lit hallway with blue walls, floor, and ceiling. You can't see the end from here.

Somewhere on your person, you will find a thin, smartphone-sized object that wasn't there before. One side of it is lit up with a red background and a number of disabled menu items. Most of the screen is taken up by another message saying "PROCEED TO CENTRAL HUB".

What is this place, anyway? And who are these people stumbling in through the transport tube array?]

[[Beyond the three prompts below, anyone may start their own prompts to mingle or go off and do their own thing or whatever else they want!]]

[He nods.

It's sharp and short, but he's not about to brag or to gloat about getting Kimbley to listen. They'd both spent nearly half a lifetime in claustrophobic boxes. Waking up in something like that again was, well...

To be honest, it probably affected Kimbley worse than Greed.]

No one. Looks like it's just you and me here.

[He's not sure if that's a relief or a problem. Kimbley being here is probably better than knowing no one at all, but Greed is fully aware that he can't actually control the man even if he wanted to.

His hands are loose at his side, making Greed look far calmer than he feels.]

We'll find the person responsible for this.

[Heh.

Kimbley just reaches up at that, crossing his arms behind his head; this is surreal as hell, but he doesn't feel particularly on-guard around Greed. The situation in general, sure, but right now...not quite so much.]

If I didn't know better, I'd think you were trying to make me feel better.
ossifragant: in the ground (Ò we keep on planting their bones)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
[He smirks.

It's not unkind, but there's an edge to it that he can't quite articulate.]

It's just your imagination, I'm sure.

[The situation unnerves him, but Greed has been around long enough that he doesn't let it show in his movements. He still looks like he cares as little about the situation as he had before he even noticed Kimbley.]

[Let's keep it that way. What the hell else would we do - discuss shit? Please.]

I'd say it's just like old times, but that's stretching disbelief even for me.
ossifragant: (Ô are crimson tastes divine)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
[There's absolutely no need for them to discuss anything at the moment, besides maybe how horribly they'll murder the person who kidnapped them.

As far as Greed's concerned, it's a moot point.]

If you wanted things to be like old times, you wouldn't have decided to play keep away with the skull in the first place.

[At the same time, though, there's very little actual aggression to his words. He's content to let things go for time being. If things change... well, he knows Kimbley well enough to know that it'll be a mutual battle so at least there won't be any ugly surprises.]

Funny, I don't remember saying that's what I want.

[There's no anger behind it, nor is it really intended to provoke; he's more obvious than this when he's kicking at nests of hornets. It's more a statement, really, and if anything it's a concession; things aren't going to be the way they were and he's fine with that.]
ossifragant: that you call a brain (⊗ stems from this thing)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't think you would.

[Though, in truth, Greed has never known what Kimbley wants. Normally he at least has an idea. He's Greed; avarice is something he knows quite well.

But with Kimbley... well, Greed always did appreciate an unknown. Maybe that was what doomed him in the end, who can say.]

You told me it yourself, didn't you? "All I want is to make some fireworks."
