DAY 00

[Good afternoon, Citizens!

Your consciousness blurrily returns as the transport tube your comatose body was stored in opens up, admitting you access to an unfamiliar room. One wall is covered by vertical tubes, one occasionally sliding open to admit another confused person. The wall across from you has a sign saying "PROCEED TO CENTRAL HUB", with an arrow pointing at a red doorway in the corner. The wall to your right contains an unlabeled, dusty, and poorly-lit hallway with blue walls, floor, and ceiling. You can't see the end from here.

Somewhere on your person, you will find a thin, smartphone-sized object that wasn't there before. One side of it is lit up with a red background and a number of disabled menu items. Most of the screen is taken up by another message saying "PROCEED TO CENTRAL HUB".

What is this place, anyway? And who are these people stumbling in through the transport tube array?]

[[Beyond the three prompts below, anyone may start their own prompts to mingle or go off and do their own thing or whatever else they want!]]

How considerate of you.

[It's deadpan, but he looks thoughtful enough.]

Here's to hoping it doesn't get too cold at night.

[Having someone keep watch seems like a reasonably good idea, but given what sort of place this is, well... hopefully they're on the same side.]

Well... teamwork.

[She's more used to being a one-woman army, but she's gotten some miraculous results by working together with her allies before. In a situation not unlike this one, even. She might as well try to use this as a chance to practice.]

Anyway, there's no way it'll be too uncomfortable in here for me to manage. It can't be as bad as the temperature extremes you get in desert combat.

That seems reasonable enough.

[This isn't the sort of game a person can play if they're too trusting, but it's also probably not possible at all if someone is working completely alone.

But there's something else there that's of interest to him:]

You have experience with desert combat?

[She... doesn't look that old. It's probably nothing more than an odd coincidence given what he heard happened not too long ago where he's from, but... Hmm.]

And jungle, urban, naval a little bit... when I was a member of Fenrir, we operated all over Europe and Asia.

[She has a weirdly nostalgic look for someone reflecting on her military service record. Especially someone who's not old enough to drink. But hey, she's people in her world have done a lot worse than join mercenary organizations lately.]
ossifragant: (⊕ bad choice bad choice)

I see.

[He has no idea what Europe or Asia are, but he assumes it's either continents or countries, so the organization she was in sounds impressive. And a little odd, to be employing children.

Though maybe that's the point. Amestris does the same thing for its military, after all.]

You're quite experienced.

[This is probably the wrong thing to say entirely but you know, when has Greed ever known the right thing to say?]

[personal profile] in_plain_sight 2014-11-02 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
[No, that's actually not that bad a choice considering who you're talking to. If there's one thing Mukuro likes about herself, it's that she fights good.]

...Do you have any military training? You seemed interested...
ossifragant: (⊗ soon heads will be rolling)

[personal profile] ossifragant 2014-11-02 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
Not exactly, no.

But back where come from, I've worked with soldiers before.

[It's genuine interest coming from him and not faked interest. Even if Greed stays out of the way of conflicts these days, it's still fascinating.]
