TRIAL 01

Attention, Citizens! You have ten minutes to proceed to the Loyalty Chamber. Anyone who is late to the Loyalty Chamber, or who brings any weapons into the Loyalty Chamber, will be immediately executed.

[Once you arrive, you will find a large chamber, with twenty podiums spaced around the room in a circle. On the ceiling, a massive screen showing the digital eye of The Computer, turning to look at whoever is talking.]

You have one hour to come to a consensus about who to eliminate. Ties will be broken randomly.

[The floor of the chamber begins to split apart, eventually only leaving the twenty podiums as safe places to stand, above a seemingly bottomless abyss. Each podium lights up with a touch screen showing twenty user IDs (Seryu-R-CIT-1 is grayed out), plus the word “ABSTAIN”. The trial begins now!]

So here's a dumb question, since you seem to be our current guy with the ideas.

How do you propose our Loyalty Officer should even get that information to us without drawing a massive target on their back?

How should I know? I'm not the Loyalty Officer, it's not my problem. Maybe they could wait until there's nobody in the Food Sector and then write a message on the floor with that slop they call "FunFood".

Another dumb question before we move on, then.

What's stopping us from suspecting you? You seem really eager to get the deaths started.

The deaths already started this morning. What I'm really eager to do is get out of this little exercise alive, and Moge-ko's a threat to that.

I know she is. I'm just wondering which side she's a threat to.

The Communists stand to benefit hugely if we jump the gun, right? We'd be three down, while they're one up. So I find it really interesting that you're arguing that we should kill her without knowing which she is.

We have enough of a numbers advantage to take the hit. If we let her run around and get herself killed outside of elimination, we run the risk of not being able to end the exercise. I'm not willing to take that chance.

...I'd rather lose and die than stay stuck here in an exercise that never ends.
