DAY 02

[Good morning! The doors unlock at 07:00, the enforced sleep effect wearing off just a few minutes prior. This time, There’s no body in the central hub… because the body of Greed is in the Hygiene Sector!]

Good morning, Citizens! Last night, participant Greed-R-PAR-1 was terminated due to Communist action. There are now 11 Citizens and 6 Communists.

Trial 02 will begin at 20:00.

[Friend Computer will remain to answer questions for ten minutes. One hour after the body is found, the usual fleet of cleaning droids will clear up the corpse and surrounding mess.

On the profiles list, Greed’s full User ID is now visible, and his status has changed to DEAD.]

[Curly isn't going to stand by and let this go down. She's rushing right at Yomiel, ready to pull him off of clay. ]

Stop it!

[ Yomiel's grip keeps tightening harder around Clay's neck while he keeps on yelling himself hoarse, oblivious to everything around him. ]

You didn't even go to see him! You didn't see his face, you didn't look at what you did to him! He died because you couldn't keep your stupid trap shut and you didn't even--

[ That's about when he's finally pried off the poor guy. Not that that's going to stop him from trying to get back to it. ]

Let go! Let go of me!

[All of the shouting ended up bringing her to the food sector.]

Mr. Yomiel, if you kill him you'll lose two of your lives too.

[ Aaaand here's Knightley, who immediately jerks Yomiel's arms behind his back to restrain him. If it hurts (which it probably does) he doesn't give a shit, oops. ]

Whoa there, calm down.

[Cuffs Yomiel in heavy iron shackles while Knightley has him restrained.]

Settle down! You're saying he is on our side, right? I'll remove these when you calm down, Mr. Yomiel!

[Clay drops to the floor and desperately catches his breath. He breathes in and out and coughs, rubbing at his neck. He backs away and stands back up, giving Yomiel a venomous glare.]

... Yeah, as if the child murderer gets to lord over me from his moral pedestal.

[Clay raises his fist.]

Well, what're you waiting for!? I'm right here! [He stretches his arms out.] Take another shot! And you know if you kill me, you'll be seeing my stupid face all over again. Not Greed's!

[ Yomiel might've calmed down a little before Clay says anything, but after that, oh no way no how. He lunges forward again, but between the cuffs and the dogpile still hovering around, he's probably not going to actually get to attack Clay again. ]

[Sorry bro, but you're out of control. Hitting the button on the JOLT OF JUSTICE. (In other words, a remote for the tasers built into the manacles.)]

[ It's OK, face-first on the ground is practically his natural state at this point. You win this one, not solving all your problems with murder. ]

[Just in case, Curly's retrieved her machinegun. It's hard for most people to consider any sort of shenanigans under the watchful barrel of a crew-served heavy weapon.

Although, the situation does seem under control now. She nods at Knightly.]

No problem, little robot lady. [ He'd nod back if he wasn't wearing a neck brace. ]

[Clay jumps, startled by the sudden electric jolt Fulbright gave Yomiel. He watches the man crumple, face flat, and gives a final look of disdain.]

Good work, detective. Everyone. Assault me like that, will he...

[He raises his hand in a mid-back handled slap motion, only to drop it.]

Well. With all this excitement, I think I'm juuust about ready to turn in.

[Clay backs away before anybody could question him any further.]

[Crouches down to check on Yomiel. Was the electricity too strong? Blackquill could take it without passing out...]

Mr. Yomiel?

[ Yomiel's not passed out, at least, if that sniffling's anything to go by. ]

[Reaches over him to take the cuffs off.]

[ Once his arms are freed, they fall limply to the ground beside him, and, yeah, looks like he doesn't intend to stop lying there any time soon. ]

[ ...

...Knightley glances down and then decides to give him a nudge with his foot. ]

Go away.

[ In this thread Yomiel is a shining example of maturity. ]

Greed was... my friend. I knew I could trust him. And now... I can't trust anybody.

[ Normally the field in which Knightley grows the fucks he gives be completely barren, but he gets the feeling that if Simon had been the one who died tonight, he would've been the one trying to strangle people. So he actually feels a little sorry for the guy right now. ]

Didn't you only know him for a few days?

[ Yomiel finally bothers to move into a sitting position, taking his sunglasses off to clean them with his tie. Between this and Moge-ko's shoe last night, it's probably a miracle they're not scratched yet. ]

[ ...At least he's honest? ]

[ Yomiel'd been completely honest and sincere when he said Knightley wouldn't understand, so he's glad he's not trying to press the issue, honestly.

He sits there in silence for a moment longer. He'd like to go back to his room and just sleep until this is all over, but he's calmed down enough to know he can't do that, as tempting as it is. He needs to be prepared for tonight's trial. ]

...Do you still want that chess match?
