TRIAL 02

Attention, Citizens! You have ten minutes to proceed to the Loyalty Chamber. Anyone who is late to the Loyalty Chamber, or who brings any weapons into the Loyalty Chamber, will be immediately executed.

[Once you arrive, you will find a large chamber, with twenty podiums spaced around the room in a circle. On the ceiling, a massive screen showing the digital eye of The Computer, turning to look at whoever is talking.]

You have one hour to come to a consensus about who to eliminate. Ties will be broken randomly.

[The floor of the chamber begins to split apart, eventually only leaving the twenty podiums as safe places to stand, above a seemingly bottomless abyss. Each podium lights up with a touch screen showing twenty user IDs (the dead are grayed out), plus the word “ABSTAIN”. However, ABSTAIN has now been grayed out as well. The trial begins now!]

[[Vote here.]]

...We can't afford to lose them, even if it paints a target on your back. [...Not that she can really be sure he hasn't already passed on the information...]

It doesn't matter who hates communists in the real world. It's just a stupid team name. The computer didn't make it sound like the communists volunteered to kill the rest of us for political reasons, they were just given a job to do if they wanted to survive. You might have a point about Ubiquitous, but Puppington was no less suspicious than anyone else before today.

And honestly, your tendency to overreact is a little suspicious too. Doing a little acting is good for an infiltrator. [/cough]

Heh. Thanks. I don't know if I'd say I trust you, but I believe you're not a Communist, at least.

I've got plenty of ideas you can have fun tearing down, but I'll need everybody off my back before I can expect them to listen to any of it.

And maybe some people react to things like human beings. You put people in a situation like this, they're going to huddle like animals in the back of a slaughterhouse.

I have no idea why you seem so annoyed at this, Princess.

[...god, apparently he has made two valid points today

aw yiss

...that said, tell him this entire fucking group is not the sort to try the Spartacus strategy eventually]

Yeah, likewise.

[...]

...Don't get me wrong, kid, what you said is a valid idea. It's just too easily messed with.

[#nailed it]

....

Robin-san, huh. I won't disagree about the fact that there are some people who I found strange about killing someone on the first day instead of abstaining, but you should know by now that not everyone is what they seem.

And Logan-san does seem rather pushy today. Perhaps he wants to get this all over with as soon as possible. These trials are rather annoying, after all. Though personally, the ones I've been watching lately are Kimbley-san and Yomiel-san and not just because I'm trying to find Communists.

That message is a red herring. I'm a Citizen, just like Seryu and Moge-ko.

But that's what you'd expect me to say whether or not I'm a Communist, isn't it?

HEY! I didn't want to do that, man! I didn't even know she was a Citizen!

[Anthy clears her throat.] I think Robin was okay with executing Moge-ko on my behalf and not due to Communism.

But the communists could figure it out, man! We can't let that happen!

... I find it ridiculous, in retrospect. If people are going to trust each other so easily, then they might as well find themselves dead. That's how the world works, after all. People are going to deceive each other whether they like it or not.

And as for my annoyance on this topic, it has to do with personal experience.

Hey, as long as you believe that, that's all that matters.

I don't know what I can do about everyone else, because you are not exactly looking good right now, but I'm willing to just say "fuck it" and yell at some people if you want. I'm an attack dog, I'm not exactly a leader of the people.

For excellent reason.
harshwords: (♦ sorry about your bad end)

[personal profile] harshwords 2014-11-10 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Unless there's a way for you to prove it, then I'm sorry, your words alone won't do it. But for the time being, I'll ignore the message until we get actual proof either way.

What if he was targeted just to be random? Then the communists would be trying to trick us and make us all confused, maaan!

[ooc: meant "he when referring to Robin, whups]

It's not even about being more than meets the eye, it's how they went about it.

What makes those two stand out aside from them being the loudest?

You didn't know she wasn't a Communist either. Weren't you freaked out about this whole thing before?

Are you friends with him?
plentyfriendly: (phi$ man -k axiom)

[personal profile] plentyfriendly 2014-11-10 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
That's what I thought. I do have a theory as to why someone would target me, though.

Remember how the vote went yesterday?
alchemicals: (005.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-10 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't get me wrong, it's ridiculous as hell. Everyone's coming at this game from the wrong direction; if we all accept that we're all going to die here, we'd get a lot further. No restraint means we'll actually get somewhere just because there'd be less paranoia running rampant. Look at what happened now that Moge-ko is gone - we're actually talking like civilized people. Sometimes people have to take one for the group, and trying to dance around the idea of whether we can trust each other or not is going to fuck us over.

Because of fucking course we can't. The most we can do is get rid of the problems and hope we don't all end up in hell.
alchemicals: (005.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-10 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
And do you have any ideas on how to prevent that?

[personal profile] thefaceofjustice 2014-11-10 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
We should at least know if they revealed anyone as safe. Even with the chance of the inhibitor covering the person the loyalty officer investigated, it may give us better odds of making the right decisions in votes.
fullonbraced: (NOOOOO NO PASSION)

[personal profile] fullonbraced 2014-11-10 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! And I still ammmm! I don't want people to keep dying, man, but they still dooo!

[Robin clenches her fists, clearly distraught.] But we can't do anything else! You heard the robot! We have to vote...
murimurimuri: (see no evil)

[personal profile] murimurimuri 2014-11-10 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
That's why. He wouldn't have made that mistake.
harshwords: (♦ ....well then.)

[personal profile] harshwords 2014-11-10 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
In regards to Yomiel-san, it's his words alone right now that's making him stand out. It's the same reason why someone would suspect Logan-san, actually.

And as for Kimbley-san, I'm simply interested in him. Besides, Phi-san did try to off him yesterday, so I'm rather curious about that as well.
cantarellacookie: (concern)

[personal profile] cantarellacookie 2014-11-10 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know if you can really become friends with someone that quickly, but of everyone here, Robin is the person who I like best. We've been sharing a room with Mr Kimbley these last two nights.
