[One minute after that declaration, Rin’s podium/cage suddenly plummets downwards, into the inscrutable depths. A second later, tiny hatches open all along the walls below, and massive torrents of raging flames emerge. You can feel the blazing heat even from as far away as the inferno is.]

[After ten seconds, the incineration stops, and the floor slides back into place, the door opening once more. There are now eighteen participants remaining.]

[On your PDC, the UI background has changed from red to orange, and your User IDs have been updated.]

[...Well, that was a shitshow.

Kimbley doesn't seem too affected by the execution, nor by the...whatever the hell Rin was talking to him about beforehand; looks like it's his turn to be sitting on one of those random ledges in the Central Hub, playing with that watch of his again.

At least he doesn't seem inclined to take heads off if he's approached, which is...improvement over this morning.]

[ Yomiel leans against a nearby wall, hands in his pockets. ]

[ Knightley leans against a nearby wall, contemplating whether he should go to bed early. He wants to explore the areas that they now have access too, but he doesn't want to risk getting lost in the labyrinth so close to curfew and get himself killed. So let's talk to people instead, using his favourite hobby as a way to start a conversation. ]

He's said maybe three words to Knightley during a trial, but he's kept enough of an eye on him to know who he is; he doesn't seem bothered by the question, either.]

He's somewhat disappointed when he gets cube-shaped stuff, but the artificial apricot flavor isn't as bad as he thought it would be. It's definitely an improvement. ]

[ Yomiel appears to be determined to try as many flavors as he can before curfew time. Gosh, you'd think it was ten years since he ate something besides algae mush or something! ]

I hope so. Anything's an improvement over FunFood, but I could really go for some roast chicken or something.

[He'll call out to her before she leaves the central hub; he isn't looking at her, and he doesn't seem too inclined to move. Just getting her attention.]

And while these cubes probably still weren't going to be as good as those impossibly-long-lasting boxes of processed foods she half-remembers... she also seems to be trying to get as many flavors as she can think of. Especially complicated ones. Especially especially twice-cooked pork.]
