[ Knightley leans against a nearby wall, contemplating whether he should go to bed early. He wants to explore the areas that they now have access too, but he doesn't want to risk getting lost in the labyrinth so close to curfew and get himself killed. So let's talk to people instead, using his favourite hobby as a way to start a conversation. ]

Hey, Mr. Kimbley. Do you play chess?

He's said maybe three words to Knightley during a trial, but he's kept enough of an eye on him to know who he is; he doesn't seem bothered by the question, either.]

I'm not too great at it - my superior kind of taught me, but he was the one that was good at it, not me.

But I wouldn't be opposed to trying, as long as you're not expecting a grandmaster.

I don't mind playing against a novice. I can even give you a few pointers if you start making embarrassing blunders like falling prey to the Fool's Mate.

[ Mostly to stop the pain of having to watch somebody be so terrible, of course. ]
