[...Well, that was a shitshow.

Kimbley doesn't seem too affected by the execution, nor by the...whatever the hell Rin was talking to him about beforehand; looks like it's his turn to be sitting on one of those random ledges in the Central Hub, playing with that watch of his again.

At least he doesn't seem inclined to take heads off if he's approached, which is...improvement over this morning.]
schrodingers_man: (Please allow me to introduce myself)

[personal profile] schrodingers_man 2014-11-11 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
[ Yomiel leans against a nearby wall, hands in his pockets. ]

Hey. She was right, you know. We made a good team in there.
alchemicals: (005.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-11 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, hey you. At least the usual smirk is back on when he glances over.]

It's like I said. I know how to play attack dog.
schrodingers_man: (Hope you guess my name)

[personal profile] schrodingers_man 2014-11-11 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
Well, try not to get taken out back behind the shed tonight, okay? Tomorrow's going to be an easy one, but you'll probably need to bark at a few more people the day after that.
alchemicals: ...periodically (006.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-11 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
You heard what that girl said about that. But I'll do my best, just for you.
schrodingers_man: (Hope you guess my name)

[personal profile] schrodingers_man 2014-11-11 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
You didn't already forget what you said about letting the Defense Officer do their job, did you? If we're really lucky, there might be no dead body at all tomorrow morning.
alchemicals: (005.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-11 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
Depends. Did you forget what you said about the possibility of the Defense Officer being an unfathomable fuckup?

You were a bit nicer about it than that, but the sentiment remains.
schrodingers_man: (I've been around for a long long year)

[personal profile] schrodingers_man 2014-11-11 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
...Just the possibility that the Defense Officer might be covering you after what Rin said could be enough reason for the Communists to pick someone else.

It's... probably you or me tonight.
alchemicals: (010.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-11 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
...That's true, isn't it.

[Shit.]

Look, I don't usually ask this sort of thing, but are you going to be all right? For a given degree of "all right."
schrodingers_man: (Pleased to meet you)

[personal profile] schrodingers_man 2014-11-11 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
...I'm fine. From the very first night, I knew I probably wasn't going to make it to the end of this alive. I've accepted that. As long as I can pass on naturally, I can't really ask for anything more than that.

...I... don't have anything to go back to, anyway.
alchemicals: (009.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-11 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
[.........]

Look, I'm a godawful person. I'm not even an honest godawful person like Moge-ko - I don't know what Greed told you about me, but he was probably right because Greed doesn't lie. I don't give a shit about what happens to me any more than I give a shit about what happens to the rest of you. I'm not even smart like you or that guy Knightley. Good at what I do, yeah. But I'm a fucking idiot otherwise. Ask anyone.

If I die, then I die. But if you give a damn about winning this thing then you'd better hope you stay alive, because you're the only one who knows what you're doing around here.
schrodingers_man: (Pleased to meet you)

[personal profile] schrodingers_man 2014-11-11 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
We better hope the Defense Officer agrees with you, then.
alchemicals: ...periodically (006.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-11 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
Personally? What I'm hoping is that the Communists guess wrong.

They've got something like a 25% chance of guessing right, don't they? If we figure for the Defense Officer not being a fuckup who's just protecting their friends.

[ Knightley leans against a nearby wall, contemplating whether he should go to bed early. He wants to explore the areas that they now have access too, but he doesn't want to risk getting lost in the labyrinth so close to curfew and get himself killed. So let's talk to people instead, using his favourite hobby as a way to start a conversation. ]

Hey, Mr. Kimbley. Do you play chess?
alchemicals: ...periodically (006.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-11 06:54 am (UTC)(link)
[...Oh. Wow, hi there, sir.

He's said maybe three words to Knightley during a trial, but he's kept enough of an eye on him to know who he is; he doesn't seem bothered by the question, either.]

I'm not too great at it - my superior kind of taught me, but he was the one that was good at it, not me.

But I wouldn't be opposed to trying, as long as you're not expecting a grandmaster.
staunton: (GLANCE ♞ smothered mate)

[personal profile] staunton 2014-11-11 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't mind playing against a novice. I can even give you a few pointers if you start making embarrassing blunders like falling prey to the Fool's Mate.

[ Mostly to stop the pain of having to watch somebody be so terrible, of course. ]
alchemicals: (008.)

[personal profile] alchemicals 2014-11-11 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
...Sure, then. You want to start a game tonight?
staunton: (NEUTRAL ♞ scholar's mate)

[personal profile] staunton 2014-11-11 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure. There's enough time for a game or two before curfew.

[ Unless Kimbley has any objections, he'll lead the way to his room. ]
